Monarch Data Pump
The demands of e-business are driving the need for more information and data than ever before. Some organizations are hobbled with legacy report distribution solutions that provide only the most basic delivery of static reports. Meanwhile, many organizations are weighing "database only" reporting solutions as the way to keep up with information demand. Legacy report distribution systems and "database only" reporting solutions are quite different enterprise reporting technologies, yet both miss the mark.
Legacy report distribution solutions generally fail to provide any meaningful business intelligence to end users, either from reports or other data sources, while complex "database only" solutions deliberately ignore the value of existing reports as an enterprise data source, opting instead to rebuild the entire reporting system literally from scratch. Ironically, both options can yield a similar result: the IT Department's workload increases amid requests for custom reports and ad hoc requests for data, and/or incur the burden of a financial and resource-intensive "database-only" reporting solution demanding substantial ongoing IT administration.
Monarch Data Pump is, in contrast, a solution modeled after the concept of e-business reporting. Monarch Data Pump successfully merges together the world of existing reports and other data sources by automatically transforming existing reports to live actionable data (including easily defined filters, to ensure a user can only see data that he or she is authorized to view; plus define data sorts; new calculated fields of data; and summaries of the data, with crosstabs, subtotals, grand totals, and more), to deliver any combination of report-based data and/or data from other sources. The data can be delivered via E-mail or used to populate databases through OLE DB or a variety of native formats including PDF, XML and more. This delivery/database population can occur on a scheduled basis.
When Datawatch Corporation wanted to develop Monarch Data Pump, they contacted Cyberlink Labs. We successfully developed this C++/MFC Windows based application and they are marketing this product to many large companies worldwide. The result of this strategic alliance between Datawatch and Cyberlink Labs is a more robust portfolio of Applications and IT capabilities that fully align to the Datawatch business strategy and support their future growth plans.
